What a fun little radio this is and the forerunner of the popular Hallicrafters S-38 series. Not sure of when this radio was made but it may have been one of the only consumer radios available during WWII. Could be why it's labled "Commercial". Echophone, once a separate company was bought by Hallicrafters. Search for the EC-1 and you'll find that Private Hogarth enjoyed his Echophone EC-1.
